USFans warehouse storage and deadlines
Once goods reach the China warehouse, USFans holds them until you return them, abandon them under policy, or pay international shipping out. This page owns the free storage clock — how long each line can sit without extended fees, and what you should finish while that clock is green. Photo angles and keep/return decisions belong in Warehouse QC photos; shipping math belongs in Shipping.
For shopping-agent (DIY Orders) buys, storage follows the first payment: you paid the item plus seller → warehouse shipping, the purchaser bought the listing, and inbound courier delivered to USFans. For Forwarding, you bought elsewhere and only use the warehouse address — the free window is usually shorter. Either way, this spreadsheet does not store inventory or show your personal countdown.
How long items stay free
| Track | Typical free window | Who bought the product |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping-agent / DIY Orders | About 90 days (Help Center storage policy) | USFans purchaser on your link |
| Forwarding | About 60 days from stored status | You (seller ships to warehouse address) |
Treat 90 / 60 as the published defaults people cite — always open the live storage-policy article and the countdown on your order line. Promotions, category exceptions, and policy updates can change the number without updating this page.
When the free clock starts
Help Center storage policy counts from when the item shows as warehoused / stored — not from the day you paid DIY Orders, and not from the day the seller handed the parcel to a China courier.
- You pay DIY Orders (or Forwarding inbound is created)
- Seller ships domestically — status may show Shipped (Local)
- Warehouse receives and processes — Received / Stock Arrived
- Line becomes Stored — free storage clock starts here
Domestic seller delays therefore eat calendar time before your free window, not during it. A “90-day” order that took three weeks to leave the seller still gets the free period from the Stored date onward. Open each line in USFans and read the stored date / remaining days shown there.
What does not start the clock
- Paste day on DIY Orders or spreadsheet bookmark day
- Seller “shipped” timestamp alone
- Catalog QC thumbnails on this site
- Paying international shipping estimate (that ends storage for selected lines by shipping them out)
What to finish inside the window
Free storage is not idle parking — it is the period when China-side decisions are still cheap. Work through this sequence while days remain:
- QC — open the free warehouse photo set; buy Detailed Photo only if a critical angle is missing (QC photos)
- Keep or return — use seller / guarantee rules while the unit is still in China (Returns)
- Clear blockers — Confirmation Pending replies, unpaid Clear Balance top-ups (Order status / Payment)
- Consolidate — select keepers, run Estimation, pay international shipping before the free window ends (Shipping)
A common parcel mistake is waiting on “one more shoe” while earlier Stored items burn free days. Either ship what you have, or consciously accept that those lines are burning clock.
After free storage ends
When the published free period expires, Help Center describes extended storage fees and, if you never submit a parcel or complete a return, eventual abandoned-goods handling. Exact yuan-per-day figures change — copy live policy on usfans.com, not a year-old Reddit screenshot.
- Fees can accrue while goods remain past the free window
- Platform reminders may appear before abandonment rules apply — still treat email/app notices as backup, not your only calendar
- A “maybe later” item can cost more in storage than returning it in China and re-buying later
- Abandoned goods are typically not recoverable as a free re-ship — read the live abandonment clause
Mixing DIY Orders and Forwarding in one parcel
Agent pieces (~90-day window) and Forwarding pieces (~60-day window) can both sit under Warehouse, but they do not share one timer. When you consolidate, check remaining free days on every selected row — not just the newest arrival.
- A Forwarding line near day 55 should not wait for a DIY hoodie that just hit Stored
- Ship the short-timer items first, or accept extended fees on purpose
- One expired / fee-accruing line can complicate an otherwise clean parcel — resolve it (pay fees, return, or exclude) before submit
Storage vs QC vs shipping timing
These three clocks are easy to confuse:
| Clock | Starts roughly when | Ends when |
|---|---|---|
| Seller → warehouse transit | Seller ships | Warehouse receives (Received / Stock Arrived) |
| Free storage | Stored / warehoused | You ship out, return, or hit fee / abandon rules |
| International transit | Parcel leaves China after shipping paid | Delivery / customs outcome at destination |
Photos usually appear after Received / Stock Arrived and before you treat the row as ready to ship. Do not pay international shipping while status still says inbound. Labels guide: Order status.
Planning a multi-week parcel
Spreadsheet shoppers often buy in waves. A practical pattern:
- Batch 1 arrives → QC immediately → mark keep / return
- Batch 2–3 arrive while Batch 1 still has comfortable free days
- Set a ship-by date from the earliest free-window expiry among keepers
- Leave a buffer for Estimation, rehearsal, and Clear Balance top-ups
If one seller is chronically late, do not let that delay hold an entire warehouse full of Stored goods against their clocks. Ship without the late line, or move the late line to its own later parcel.
Common storage mistakes
- Assuming the free window started on DIY payment day
- Ignoring Forwarding’s shorter window inside a mixed parcel
- Skipping QC until “right before ship” and discovering a defect with few free days left
- Letting Confirmation Pending sit until the line is stuck and the clock is still running on sibling items
- Treating this spreadsheet as a warehouse dashboard
What this spreadsheet does not do
We do not hold inventory, extend timers, send expiry SMS, or bill storage. Discovery stays here; warehouse clocks, fees, and abandonment rules live on usfans.com. Always trust the countdown on the live order over any number memorized from a guide.
Quick FAQ
Does returning an item stop the storage clock? Once the return leaves warehouse process under seller rules, that line is no longer “sitting free” as a shippable Stored item — follow the return flow status instead.
Can I extend free storage? Published free days are policy-fixed; past that you are in fee territory unless a live promotion says otherwise. Ask Help on usfans.com for your account — do not assume forum workarounds.
If I move items into a submitted parcel, does storage still tick? Selected goods leave the free-storage sitting state as they enter parcel packing / outbound; unfinished leftover lines keep their own clocks.
Why does my friend have different days? Track type (agent vs Forwarding), Stored date, and policy version differ. Their screenshot is not your contract.
