Hoodie buying checklist: measurements, print and zipper
Check a hoodie’s measurements, print placement, zipper and included details before ordering. Compare product photos with your warehouse photos.
Before choosing a hoodie, check the measurements and the details that made you want it: the print, fabric appearance, zipper or hood. The product’s estimated price does not tell you whether those details match your expectations.
Compare measurements
Use the seller’s chest and body-length measurements for the exact model. Compare them with a hoodie you already own that fits well. Check how the seller measured the garment, because a size letter alone is not enough.
Compare shape with a hoodie you own
Lay your reference hoodie flat without stretching the ribbing. Measure chest width between the underarm points, body length from the stated shoulder point, and sleeve length using the seller’s method. A sleeve measured from the neck cannot be directly compared with a sleeve measured from a shoulder seam. Dropped shoulders make that distinction especially useful.
Here is a hypothetical comparison in centimetres. Your comfortable hoodie measures 58 cm across the chest and 68 cm in body length. A seller option measuring 62 cm and 65 cm is wider and shorter, rather than simply “a bigger fit.” If you want extra room for layers but the same length, compare other options or another cut. Do not add a universal allowance to every chart.
Check the print and construction
| Detail | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Front and back print | Design, colour, position and clear edges |
| Zipper | Pull, visible teeth and both ends |
| Hood and drawcord | Shape, attached cords and tips |
| Cuffs and hem | Ribbing, seams and visible damage |
| Fabric | Surface appearance; ask for weight or material details if important |
Request clearer product images if the gallery only shows a cropped logo. Photos alone cannot reliably show fabric feel or how the hoodie will fit you.
Look beyond the logo
Check whether the hoodie is a pullover or a zip style, whether the pocket layout matches, and whether the hood and drawcords shown belong to the selected version. For a zip hoodie, a straight-on picture with the zipper closed helps compare the two front panels and any split graphic. A picture cannot demonstrate smooth zipper operation; ask whether a relevant check is available if that matters.
For fabric weight or warmth, look for a material description or an inside view. Thick-looking folds in a photo do not measure fabric weight. Distinguish “the lining is visible” from “the lining will be warm enough for my climate.”
Read a mixed clothing photo carefully

Buyer arrival photo from the 10kg streetwear delivery. The grey zip garment is shown alongside shoes and other clothing. It gives context for colour and the combination of items in that delivery.
The photo is not a flat, measured inspection of the hoodie. It does not show a readable size label, a complete inside view or a fabric-weight measurement. Use a closer garment photo for a zipper or print concern, and a tape-measure photo for a sizing question.
Review your warehouse photos
Compare the received colour, print, labels and visible condition with your order. If the print position or zipper is unclear, ask for another view before deciding whether to keep the item. Use the warehouse photo guide for inspection options.
Questions to resolve before keeping it
| Situation | What to clarify |
|---|---|
| Size label matches, but the shape looks different | Garment measurements using the chart’s method |
| Front print seems uneven across a zipper | Straight-on view with both panels laid flat |
| Fabric looks thinner than expected | Stated composition and an inside view; photos still cannot prove warmth |
| Drawcord or zipper pull is not visible | Whether it is hidden, absent or different for this version |
Save the selected listing and chart so you can describe an actual discrepancy. If a concern remains unresolved, check the return guide before combining the garment into a parcel. Packing decisions come after deciding whether the hoodie itself is acceptable.
Plan the next step
Bulky hoodies can take up parcel space. If you are combining several items, read the shipping and packing guide. For a real mixed clothing parcel, see the 10kg buyer delivery; its costs and timing are not a quote for your order.
